Indian IT professionals and Zoo born monkey

Long back I read about real incident happened, A monkey was born in Zoo. It was kept in zoo for almost six years. That cage in the zoo become world of that monkey. One fine day, zoologists taken the monkey to a forest and opened the cage and left it for free. But the monkey did not leave the cage. It was happily roaming around the cage, since it became its world.

Similar incident happened yesterday (Friday) in my office. We got a mail that announced holiday for yesterday afternoon. After seeing the mail everybody was happy. But no body left the office. Most of the reasons would be... "If I go now ,it would disturb my wife's sleep" ... Some bachelors said... "In office we can just browse." For IT people , After spending more time in office. Office becomes the world of the people. They don't know other activities.

World is Flat - Part I

I started reading book, The World is Flat, Pulitzer awarded Author is a professional writer for NewYork Times. The books is like a discussion with Friedman. He speaks out about changes in 21st century. How world is changed. How world became flat. How India and china invaded the world. Outsourcing is curse or blessing to America.

Authors profound knowledge in business and macro economics shines in every line of the book. He starts Indian offshore model. His visit to bangalore, He compares Columbus misinterpretation with America as part of India as he reached, with his finding of indians as more americanized.

Its interesting to know that ,apart from customer service and software, Preparing radiological reports for American x-rays at night, Filling of tax ,offshore personal assitance for American executives even compilation of news for reuters are happening in India. Its true that entry level salary of young indian BPO employee would be greater than retiring salary of their parents. A indian employer sits in bangalore would direct customer in Las vegas. They would market the creditcard they could never afford of having.

At personal front they are suffering a lot. Their metabolism would change. They can't meet their folks yes.. Weekends also they would be sleeping at day time. Husband and wife would meet only in the weekend

Important point author is trying to make out is, work will be done in earth where it can be most efficiently done.

'How I made it - Rachel Bridge' A review

I was reading a book called How I made it. It was a quite Interesting. There is a German proverb 'ship in the shore is light house' ,This book reflects the proverb by revealing the Life of 40 entrepreneurs who made thier fortune by finding a new enterprise.

Author starts with common things with entrepreneurs like inspiration, motivation, risk and attitude. Then she illuminate one by one of forty successful people. Most people are placed around united kingdom. Every one comes from different backround, approching in different way to start up a new business.

Some general thing we can get from all these people is, everybody had a plan. a business plan to execute. Everybody knows what they really want. All had never give up attitude. every body has passion. some people does not have an affinity towards what they have started and groomed. they just sell it like anything and find something else to move on. It seems like they attached to they way to do things than merely the things itself.

Some powerful points we can make out from this book.

1. If you don't born with a luck ,make it.

2. Though it is your own company, some time feel it as if it is others, so you can switch off
from the work

3. Whatever you do, do it with passion.

4. Little Luck,Little skill and plenty of hard work makes success.

5. whereever you are, Know , for what you are there for, do it extremely well.

6. Money is not only a motivation.

7. Decide your disteny by yourself. don't let others to decide.

8. Work for you not for others.

Author is Editor of Sunday Times [U.K]. All the personalities are taken only from UK.
